My Latest Conduit to Joy

So I'm sure many can relate to what I've gone through since having children: an uphill battle of remaining hip. (maybe I wasn't ever hip, that would make the battle harder) Everything changes, and you suddenly realize why your mom wore mom-butt jeans and flowery dresses. Who has time to keep up with what's in the now when you have children? So I figure if I find ways of staying in touch with who I was before I had children, then maybe I should pass those on to others, so we don't all lose ourselves and realize the only music we recognize are The Wiggles or Doodlebops. (I'm actually embarassed that I know who both those "groups" are, and I feel the need to say that my children do not watch tv no matter how much I try to make them!) I used to listen to my music in the car, but now it's Wee Sing or the music is off. Anyways, this is a big build-up to say that I found an online radio station called Pandora, that allows you to enter an artist or a song and it creates a radio station for you playing similar music to that artist or song. Like if you enter Amy Winehouse, it will play her, and india arie, joss stone, john legend etc. I play it while I'm online or cleaning or anytime my children are sleeping! This way you get to sample music from many different artists and then you can buy a cd if you love any of it.

I love Pandora! I got tired of the radio because it has too many commercials, but Pandora is great for finding new music. (By the way, this is Jessie from your ward. I found you through the Yeates' blog).

What a great idea! This will be much better than my once a year obsessive shopping spree on itunes because I happened to hear one new song on the radio that I loved. Thanks...

We LOVE Pandora!! Melanie told us about it a few days ago and we can't stop. You crack me up, by the way. I too am trying to hang on to my pre-mom-ness.
